**Obituary for Sonja Marie (Petrone) Loudenslarger**
Sonja Marie (Petrone) Loudenslarger, age 86, of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025. Born in GlenDale, WV, on August 5, 1938, she was the beloved daughter of the late Albert W. Petrone Sr. and Annadean (Gandy) Petrone.
A devoted Catholic and homemaker throughout her life, Sonja found joy in the simple pleasures of home and family. She was an ardent fan of the Cleveland Browns and WVU football, cheering passionately for her teams. Sonja also had a love for collecting recipes, always eager to try new dishes and share them with loved ones. Her enthusiasm for couponing was well-known among family and friends, as she delighted in finding the best deals and sharing her tips with others.
Sonja was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Edward Gene Loudenslarger; her parents, Albert W. Petrone Sr. and Annadean Petrone; and her dear sisters, Ruth Ann Petrone and Betty Lou (Petrone) Sibert.
She is survived by her loving brother, Albert Petrone Jr., of Wheeling, WV; her nephew, Jay Petrone and his wife Michelle of Glen Dale, WV; her niece, Michele Petrone of Moundsville, WV; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will miss her dearly.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m at Altmeyer Funeral home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen. The burial will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida, where Sonja will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband.
