James "Jamie" K. Schubert, age 62, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on December 20, 1962, in
Wheeling, West Virginia, Jamie lived a life marked by dedication to family, work, and community service.
After a distinguished career as a steel worker with Level Tek, Jamie retired to enjoy his passions, including golfing and serving various veterans' organizations. His commitment to his country was evident through his service as a proud U.S. Marine Veteran. He was actively involved with Moundsville VFW Post 437 as Quartermaster and served as Commander of the American Legion, Mountain Knapp Post #5 in McMechen.
Jamie was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Nancy L. (Meyers) Schubert and James Paul Schubert; his cherished son, Justin Schubert; and his dear sister, Patty Novick.
He is survived by his loving children: Cory (Taylor) Schubert of Fairmont, WV; Jason (Diane) Schubert of St. Clairsville, OH; and Ashlie (Andy) Kotson of Moundsville, WV. Jamie also leaves behind his devoted sister, Carol (Joe) Marcinek of
McMechen, WV; brothers, Robert (Paula) Schubert of Glen Dale, WV, and Scott Schubert of Crossville, TN; and six treasured grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his girlfriend, Tonya Tribett of McMechen, several nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Sam (Jayne) Novick of McMechen, and cousin Mary Catherine LaRoy of Florida.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 6-8 pm.at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, where A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 10 am, officiated by Pastor Mike Eskridge, with military graveside services to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in
Wheeling, WV..
Jamie will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and his community. His legacy of service and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
