Sonja Pope Obituary
Sonja Spainhour Pope, age 87 passed away on March 4, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Yvonne and King Spainhour, Sr., sons, Raymond and David Pope.
Sonja graduated from Oak Ridge High School and attended Tennessee Tech. She worked at Bank of American (Oak Ridge) for many years and then at Wal-Mart.
She is survived by her brother King Spainhour (Sharon), nephew Todd Spainhour (Megan), niece Suzanne Mackowski (Nick) and great-niece Mia. She is also survived by her daughter Peggy Pope, granddaughter Megan Grider and grandson Justin Grider.
Many thanks to Peggy Silvey for her dear friendship to Sonja and wonderful care to Sonja in her last days.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Mott-McKamey Funeral Home and Cremations is assisting the Pope family.
