T. F. “Sonny” Greeson III , 76 of Lisbon, LA was born November 6th, 1948 and was unexpectedly called home by the Lord on July 24th 2025. He was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church in Bernice, LA. Sonny grew up in Lafayette, LA before joining the service and attending military college courses as well as TCU. Serving as a member of US Air Force from 1967-1991, he traveled across the world with his family. He served in the Vietnam Conflict and was called back from retirement to active duty for Desert Shield/Storm.
Sonny worked in the Medical Field in the Air Force in Operating room, Orthopedic Clinic and Surgery as a Certified Orthopedic Specialist through N.A.O.T. During his military service, he was awarded many medals including Air Force Commendation Medal with Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Air Force Longevity Service Award with Bonze Oak Leaf Cluster, and Professional Military Education Graduate with Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster. He moved to Lisbon, LA in December 1990, joining Claiborne Parish Fire District 6 serving for the next 25 years including such honors as being Captain of the Lisbon Station and a Member of the Board of Directors. He was a member of the Athens Masonic Lodge #136 as a 32nd degree Mason. He was also of member of both the Scottish Rite and a Shriner. Sonny's passions included family, diving, hunting, fishing, dancing his princess around the floor, and jazz and blues music. He was a friend to everyone he met. He had an infectious personality, smile, and laugh contagious to all those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T. F. Greeson, Jr and Kathryn White Greeson, as well as a great granddaughter, Aurora Sage Greeson.
He was survived by the “Love of his life” and wife of 56 years, Catherine Jones Greeson; son, Scott and wife Laney Greeson, son, Sonny Mark Greeson Sr., and son, Greg and wife Samantha Greeson; grandchildren – Amber “BamBam” Greeson, Josh “Hunter” Greeson, Sonny Mark Jr. and wife Maddie Greeson, Arielle and Husband Nick Hunt, Xavier “Boo Boy” and wife Kasey Greeson, Patience Greeson, Skyler “Squirrel” Greeson, Gabriel “Bruiser” and wife Molly Greeson, Candy Greeson, Gregory Greeson, and Kaytin “Butterfly” Greeson; great-grandchildren – Ella, Hazel, Sonny III, Annalise, and Hadyn Greeson; sister, Cheryl Shrout; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services were held for Sonny Greeson at Pisgah Baptist Church, 113 Pisgah Church Road, Bernice, LA, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., and Rev. Eric Harkins, officiated. Interment was at Rocky Springs Cemetery in Lisbon, LA. Visitation was at the church on Saturday prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service.
