Sonny Ray Watson

Sonny Ray Watson, 67, of 1791 Egypt Rd., Prospect Hill, died Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Born in Person County, Sonny was the son of the late Theodore Carson and Doris Ann Humphries Watson. Sonny worked at Woody's Body Shop in Burlington for 35 years and was of the Baptist faith. He loved working on cars and model cars. Sonny enjoyed his routine family visits and spending time at his brother Carl's shop.

Sonny is survived by two children, Monica W. Enoch (Steven) and Makayla Rae Watson; two brothers, Carl Watson and Lonnie Watson; two sisters, Sheila Aldridge (Randy) and Vickie Dixon; four grandchildren, Jordan Byrd, Brandon Byrd, Oakley Robinette and Emersyn Robinette.

Graveside services will be held 11AM Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Lea Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Steve Jordan. Visitation will be held 6-7:30PM Friday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his brother Lonnie Watson, 1625 Egypt Rd., Prospect Hill.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Byrd, Brandon Byrd, Lee Watson, Cody Watson, Jerry Wright and Ken Dehner.
