Born on August 19, 1940, in Wichita, KS, Sonya brought beauty and grace to everything she did. Her creativity was often inspired by her adventures and the people she met. Whether composing a verse or painting delicate watercolors, she found joy in creative expression and cherished the moments of peace they brought to her life.

Her adventures gave her a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and traditions, which she carried with her throughout her life. Her time in Japan especially influenced her perspective, leaving an impression on her art and her sense of beauty.
Sonya was equally at home on the dance floor, where her energy and spirit shone. Whether waltzing at formal gatherings or moving to the rhythm of her favorite tunes, she brought a contagious joy with every step.
Sonya valued connection and love. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister to her loving family; and she treasured her friendships, often hosting lively social gatherings throughout her life. Her warmth and laughter made her a cherished presence in the lives of all who knew her.
Sonya is survived by her daughters Julie Jerry and Sharon Kleven (Brad), her sister Nancy Bledsoe; her grandchildren Jesse Bezdek (Donna), Christopher Bell (Kara), Jody Moore, Justin Bell (Alysia), Sara Lynn Moore, Blake Kleven, Paris Pilewicz (Cale), and Nolen Moore; her great-grandchildren Justice, Kaela, Adam, Deigan, Dallyn, Keiluhn, Makenzie, Adalyn, and Maddex; AND, numerous s nieces and nephews who will carry forward her adventurous and loving spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred Wasson and Virginia Wasson (Page), her brothers Rick and Gary Wasson, and her daughter Kathryn Moore.
Sonya will be remembered for her boundless curiosity, her creative soul, and the joy she brought into the world. Though her journey has ended, her light will continue to guide and inspire.
