Sonya was born in Randolph County, on January 28, 1970. She loved to travel; one of the places she enjoyed going to the most was the beach and looking at light houses. Sonya was a bookworm, she enjoyed reading all sorts of books. Sonya especially loved her grandchildren.
Sonya was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Homer Hurley.
She is survived by her daughters, Crystal Williams (Christopher), Dina Hiatt (Tony); mother, Patricia Little; "sons", Toby Hiatt, Glen Hiatt (Jamie); brothers, Todd James, Jerry James; grandchildren, Zachary, Gracie, Dakota, CJ, Hunter, Abbie, Catharin, Austin, Zayden; nieces and nephews, Bubba Hiatt, Makayla Hiatt, Jasmine Hiatt.
