Sonya F. Pearcy

Sonya F. Pearcy, 97, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Dickinson, Texas, was called to the Lord peacefully in her sleep on September 17, 2023. Sonya was born May 7, 1926 in Syndey, Australia, to her father, Willis Bedford Harrison and mother, Frances (Whitworth) Harrison. Sonya immigrated to the US in 1947 and gained her US citizenship on December 19th, 1952. She married Richard R. Pearcy Jr. on January 8th, 1949, and they remained happily together until his passing in November 2003. She is preceded in death by her husband, and her son, Richard R. Pearcy III. She is survived by her son, Bedford Pearcy and his wife Susan Boire Pearcy of Houston, and daughter, Anna Bouchelle and her husband Tommy Bouchelle of Titusville, FL. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Emily Tran, Kathryn Hernandez, Travis Pearcy, Leah Hartfield, and William Mullin, and eleven beloved greatgrandchildren.
Services are to be held Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the 1st Methodist Church of Dickinson, 200 FM 517, Dickinson, TX 77539, followed by a reception. Sonya wished that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The Rose – Center for Breast Health Excellence (connect by the web at: therose.org, or by mail at: The Rose, 12700 N.
