WORCESTER-Sophia Tsiokas, 99, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 30, in the Holy Trinity Nursing Home. She was born and raised in Chicago, IL the daughter of Nicholas and Marina (Boulios) Tsiokas.
Sophia attended the former Commerce High School. She worked at Comfort Products and was a family caregiver for many years. Sophia enjoyed travelling, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.
She is survived by two sisters, Thalia McGrath and Helen Pilitsis both of Worcester; nieces; grandnieces; grand nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by eight brothers and one sister, George, Alex, Theodore, Stephen, James, Spyridon, Gust, Pericles and Katherine Nanchu.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Holy Trinity Nursing Home and Brookhaven Hospice of Westborough for their excellent and loving care they provided for Sophia.
A Private Funeral will be held in Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Burial will be private in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral 102 Russell St., Worcester 01609 or to Holy Trinity Nursing Center, 300 Barber Ave, Worcester, 01606. Arrangements in the care of Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home.
