Sophie M. D'Apice, age 85, of Lynnfield, formerly of Wakefield, died Friday October 26 at her residence. Born in Boston on July 20, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Louis and Teresa (Conzo) Caso. Mrs. D'Apice was raised in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School. She married her high school sweetheart, the late Andy D'Apice, and they moved to Wakefield where they raised their family. While her husband served in the Coast Guard, Mrs. D'Apice took classes and worked as a Stenographer. She also enjoyed a career in real estate that spanned more than 40 years; 35 of which she spent at Century 21 Greers in Wakefield. She was a member of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. Mrs. D'Apice loved to travel and she and her husband took many trips to Europe, especially enjoying time in Italy; they also spent their winters in Naples, FL. Above all, she cherished her role as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was the beloved wife of the late Constantino "Andy" D'Apice, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Mark A. D'Apice and his wife Phyllis (Fabiano) of Sparks, NV and Dayna A. Roberto and her husband Mark of Lynnfield. She was the cherished sister of Rita DiLibero of Wakefield, Joan Marinello of Saugus, Sally Semertgakis of Everett, and the late Salvatore Caso and Connie Capone. She was the adoring grandmother of Andrew D'Apice and his wife Ashlee, Christopher D'Apice and his wife Alicia, Thomas D'Apice and his wife Lauren, Kimberly D'Apice, Alexa Roberto and Nicholas Roberto; and the great grandmother of Alex, Anthony, Ava and Scarlett D'Apice. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 12pm. Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield prior to the Mass beginning at 9am. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. Contributions in lieu of flowers to The Citizen Scholarship Foundation, Inc., C/O The Andy D'Apice Fund, PO Box 321, Wakefield, MA 01880.

Dear Dayna and Mark, I am so heartbroken hearing of your sweet Mom's passing so suddenly. I will miss her dearly. We had so many laughs over the years and Sophie was One in a million So much fun and she loved her family more than anything. Thats all we wver talked about.
