Sophie Hydzik Obituary
Parlin - Sophie Hydzik, 87 of Parlin passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Poland, Sophie emigrated to the United States in 1949 ultimately settling in Carteret. It was in Carteret where she married, made a home and raised her family. In 2002 her and her husband moved to Parlin. Sophie specialized in her Polish cooking, always treating her family to delicious pierogi's as well as other Polish delicacies. She was a communicant of both Divine Mercy Parish - Holy Family R.C. Church in Carteret as well as Sacred Heart R.C. Church in South Amboy. Sophie was a loving and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
Sophie was predeceased by her husband in 2013, Myron Hydzik. Surviving are her children, Stephen Hydzik and his wife Cathy, Irene Pavlonnis and her husband Theodore; grandchildren, Christina O'Hara and her husband James, Allison Senerchia and her husband Joseph, Stephen Hydzik and T.J. Pavlonnis (Smiley). Also surviving are great grandchildren, Derek, Selah and Noah O'Hara, Leo and Ellie Senerchia; siblings, Helen Bein and Stanley Masluch; beloved brother in law, Richard Bein along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart R.C. Church in South Amboy. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 4:30pm to 8:30pm at the funeral home.

My sincere condolences to the Hydzik family at this time of mourning. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I will always remember Sophie as a kind and considerate person who would always avail herself to anyone in need, whether it be family, friends, or someone she was not familiar with in life. Her cooking and baking sustained us all, as did her love of life for all of us!
