Mrs. Sorrelda Arbutus “Booty” Welch, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at her residence.
Born, November 9, 1944, in Hagerstown, she was the only child of Kenneth Olin and Sorrelda Elizabeth McCall Welch.
Booty worked as a waitress in Hagerstown for many years.
She was an animal lover at heart. She had a special fondness for horses, dogs and cats.
Booty is survived by her only son, Kenneth Welch and wife Jenny of Hagerstown; and by her beloved dog and “love of her life”, Benji; as well as her former spouse Raymond “Buddy” Welch, Jr., of Texas; and cousins including Roger Otzelberger, Sr. and wife Rose and many friends including Faye and Jimmy Powers.
The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is handling arrangements for the family. A graveside service will be held for family and friends, Thursday, October 2, at 11:00 AM, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 South Potomac Street, Hagerstown. Her cousin, Chaplain Roger L. Otzelberger of Dargan Fire Company of Potomac Valley, will officiate. Family and friends will congregate just inside the main gate for a procession to the gravesite moments before the service begins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Welch’s name to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
