Spence Edward Vaughan, age 92, of Logansport, passed away Monday November 11, 2024, in his residence.
Born February 22, 1932, in Russellville, Arkansas to the late Elmer and Corrie (Balinger) Vaughan. On May 3, 1951, in Parkdale, Arkansas he married Pauline Bell who preceded in death on August 9, 2008.
Spence was the former owner and operator of Spence’s Body Shop in Logansport. Spence was a member of Life Gate Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was always praying for someone even if he had just met them.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth (David) Higgins, Logansport, IN; Linda (Larry) Stephens, Logansport, IN; Georgie Mock and Steve Phebus, Brookston, IN; one son, Paul Vaughan, Logansport, IN; two sisters, Janelda Tveten, Logansport, IN; Oneda Phillopovich, New Mexico; one brother, Lewis (Marlena) Vaughan, Logansport, IN; son-in-law, Mike (Janet) Rans, FL; sister-in-law, Janet Vaughan, Logansport, IN; 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren, 3 great great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Glenda Sue Rans, two sons, Wesley Dean and Keith Dean, 3 sisters, Sue Harris, Aleta Davis and Ruby Tietbol; three brothers, James, Euel and Anthony Vaughan, son-in-law, Steve Mock; and step mother, Katie Vaughan.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday November 16, 2024, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with grandson Chris Higgins officiating. A burial will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery near Logansport.
A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
