C. Spencer Beaufort-Patterson, born March 7, 1990, chose to end his journey on this earth June 12, 2024, at the age of 34.
Spencer is the son of Marjorie Beaufort Gottsch, stepson to Nathan Gottsch, Thomas Blitch (Julie Anne) and son of Sean Patterson (Juliet). He is the grandson of H. Howard and Mary Ann Beaufort (both deceased) Ron and June Patterson, Carolyn Blitch and Edwin (Pop) L Blitch III (deceased) He is the brother to Charles (Cam) Mains, Ryan Blitch, Michael Hiott, stepbrothers Justin Gottsch, and Brandon Ricard and stepsisters LeeAnna Cambre, and Cedesia Ricard Price. Spencer is also the father of 2 boys Wolfgang (Beau) and Ellis. He also had numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Spencer was an avid outdoorsman who loved all hunting, fishing and conservation of the Lowcountry and Midlands. He served in the US ARMY artillery. He enjoyed training his dogs Waylon and Outlaw, learning all types of duck, turkey and deer calls. His love for music was eclectic and so was Spencer! He had an infectious laugh and could find humor in almost any situation. His eyes danced when talking of any of his passions. We will miss all of him.
No one knew of the darkness and depression that Spencer suffered while alone. His recent paralysis was unsurmountable for him. His choice of suicide will leave all of us shaken to our core.

June Areheart Patterson

June 26, 2024

Years ago when he was 12 or 13, Spencer saw, for the first time, the painted buntings that visit our feeders in the spring. He named that visitor bird "Joseph" from the Bible story about the coat of many colors. This comforts me some . Rest in peace dear Spencer.
