Spencer Stockstill

Spencer Stockstill, at the age of 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. He was born on April 19, 1945, in Henleyfield, Mississippi to Joseph Stockstill and Victoria Buras Stockstill.

He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Lacroix (Eddie); daughter-in-law, Alanna Stockstill; grandchildren, Rhonda Katherine Orr (Charles), Jenkins Lacroix (Kaylin), Joshua Lacroix (Desiree), Sophie Stockstill, and Griffin Stockstill; and great-grandchildren, Magnolia Lacroix, Drake Lacroix, Scarlett Lacroix, and Madden Lacroix. He is also survived by his brother, Jehrome Stockstill (Geri); sisters-in-law, Celestine Scott (Julius), Betty Rogers, Ruth Stockstill, and Billie Jean Stockstill; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Ernestine Jenkins Stockstill; his son, Darrin Spencer Stockstill; his parents; his siblings, Grady Stockstill, Kendall Stockstill (Jimmie), Victor Stockstill, and Joseph Stockstill; and his brother-in-law, Morris Rogers.

Spencer graduated from Poplarville High School in 1964, whereafter he served for the United States Air Force as a sergeant from 1965 to 1968. He was an avid and dedicated member of the Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church, a skilled diesel mechanic, and loved spending time outdoors in his flower garden. Spencer was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers for the service will be Jenkins Lacroix, Joshua Lacroix, Jeffery Stockstill, Joshua Stockstill, Ritchie Flynn, and Mack Hobgood.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Spencer Stockstill may be made to Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433, on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM until service time. Interment will take place following the service at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, 20122 Stafford Road, Covington, LA 70435.
