Speros Andonis Manolis, resident of Sheridan, WY, passed away on January 22, 2025, peacefully in his sleep the age of 87.
Speros was born and raised in Drakeia-Volos, Greece. He was the youngest of six children of Andonios and Konstantina (Halkia) Manolis. Speros came to America in 1955 at the age of 17 to help his Uncle John Manolis on the family farm outside of Lodge Grass, MT. He earned his US Citizenship December 22, 1960.
In September 1961, he married Anna May Hando. They welcomed their first son, Anthony John, September 20th 1962, on Speros' own birthday. In March 1964, they welcomed their second son, Thomas Paul. Speros and Anna May sold the family farm and moved to Sheridan, WY in 1979. Later divorcing in 1983. He never remarried.
Speros operated Goose Creek Painting until his informal retirement. In later years he loved planting flowers and raising tomatoes. He was a kind and generous man with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed teasing and joking with his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren before giving them a Pepsi and slipping them some cash.
He will be missed by his two sons Tony (Jan) of Hardin, MT; Tom (Mary) of Sheridan; his grandchildren Tyler Manolis (Amanda) of Delano, MN; Morgan Manolis Shawnee) of Hardin; Amanda McIntosh (Justin) of Sheridan; Jorja Manolis of Sheridan and Selena Blanchard (Chris) of Huntley, Mt as well as 13 Great Grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Brothers Othon, Kimon, Dimitris, sisters Sevasti and Ahlaia, all of Greece.
Speros requested no funeral service. We will honor his wish and have a memorial/celebration of life in the spring.
