SSG Jared Michael Young, age 44, of Gulfport, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, in Killeen, TX.

Jared was born in San Antonio, TX on October 26, 1980. He graduated from Parkersburg South High School in West Virginia and joined the U.S. Army.

Jared received 3 Navy Achievement Medals, Army Good Conduct Medal, 2 Navy Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Humanitarian Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, 3 Navy/Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbons, Basic Aviation Badge, Combat and Special Skill Badge, and Basic Marksmanship Qual Badge.

Jared was preceded in death by his mother, Holly Jean Bergstrom Young.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Young; father, Dennis Neal Young and his wife, Nita; daughter, Jessica Paige Graf (Parker); sister, Chelsea Grabber (Ben); and nieces, Willow and Lily Reynolds.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road, Gulfport, MS 39503. Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until service time. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Biloxi National Cemetery, with full honors by the U.S. Army. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport is honored to serve the family of Jared Michael Young.
