Stacey M. Popkin, 54, Loxahatchee, FL, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and under care of Hospice.
Stacey Marie Tweten was born December 9, 1968, in Moorhead, MN to Micheal and Rosemary (Steffes) Tweten. She attended school, graduating from Glyndon Felton High School in 1986.
Following high school, Stacey attended Bemidji State University from 1986-1988 and later transferred to Bridgewater State University, graduating in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in teaching.
On July 25, 1992, Stacey was united in marriage to Scott Popkin in Fargo, ND. They made their home in Lake Worth, FL, welcoming a son and daughter, Zachary and Samantha.
For 18 years, Stacey immersed herself in raising their children. Her devotion to family was unmatched. Her home was a safe place, filled with joy, and neighborhood children enjoying time with their kids swimming, and lots and lots of laughter.
Growing up Stacey was a multi-sport athlete, with an incredible drive to live life to its fullest. She was most proud of her track record at Glyndon-Felton that stood for years. With her siblings and childhood friends, playing volleyball, softball, and hockey on the river, Stacey was always up for the challenge.
Stacey enjoyed family vacations, and trips to the farm. During the summer, she loved spending time at a lake cabin with her extended family. Stacey enjoyed going to Scott’s hockey games and never missing any. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, which always involved getting together with everyone and enjoying each other’s company.
For over 25 years, Stacey had battled cancer. You would never know this from the outside because of her positive outlook on life, and because of her positive spirit, it often motivated those around her to be strong in whatever endeavor or situation they were in.
Stacey will be remembered and deeply missed by her husband, Scott; son, Zachary and his wife Laura Popkin; daughter, Samantha Popkin; brothers, Darin (Kerri) Tweten, Eric (Desiree) Tweten, and Phillip Tweten-Rivera (Matthew Rivera).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Micheal and Rose Tweten.
