Staci Dawn Murphy, 57, of Springerton, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on August 8, 1967, in Fairfield, Illinois, the daughter of Kendall and Sandra (Flannigan) Carter. Staci was an RN and worked most recently in case management. She enjoyed gardening, DIY projects, listening to music and spending time outdoors. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Miles.
Staci is survived by her children, Jaci (Justin) Crain of Carterville, IL. and Joli (Gage Chandler) Murphy of Paducah, KY; a grandson, Miles Crain; siblings, Kendra (Kip) Russell of Carmi, IL, Craig (Amy Degenhardt) Carter of Broughton, IL. and Kim (Rodger) Mann of Carmi, IL; aunts and uncles, Don Flannigan of Dahlgren, IL, Barbara Denny of Troy, MO, and Rick (Lara) Carter of Carmi, IL; nieces and nephews, Amber Haley, Kelsey Russell, Cheyenne Mann, Seth Mann and Drake Carter; great-niece and nephew, Kendall Rooney and Noah Haley; and close family friend, who was like a mother, Janna Lankford of McLeansboro, IL.
A memorial service for Staci Murphy will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield. Burial will be held at a later date at New Prospect Cemetery in Broughton. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Staci's memory to the Ronald McDonald House of Ohio Valley, and will be accepted at Stendeback Funeral Home or may be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
