Stacy M. Colwell

Stacy M. Colwell, 55, of Zanesfield, passed away at 6:05 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on November 18, 1968, to the late Arnell Canaday and Janet (Borchardt) Canaday, who survives.

On September 4, 1993, she married Clarence “Dallas” Colwell, and he survives.

She is also survived by her daughter, Jessica (Andrew) Hursh; son, Hunter Colwell; grandchildren; Ezra, Kennedy, Paxton, and Beau Hursh; sister, Carla Gambol; brother, William Canaday; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her father, Stacy was preceded in death by a grandchild, Lane Hursh.

Stacy went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family and closest friends. There wasn’t anything that meant more to her than her family and dear friends. She enjoyed spending time with those closest to her and spoiling her grandchildren with chocolate milk and candy each time they came to visit Grandma’s house. 

Stacy was an incredibly strong and passionate individual. She always looked out for those who she loved most and put everyone before herself. She was as honest as honest gets and could give just about anyone a good laugh. She was the most genuine loving friend, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She was a friend that could be counted on to be there, tell the truth; even when others didn’t want to hear it. 

Our hearts will forever have a piece missing because she is someone that simply cannot be replaced. We are so happy that we all have one of the best angels looking down upon us. We just wish she could have stayed with us a little longer.

A private graveside service will take place at Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty.
