Stacy Lee Glissmeyer
1959 - 2025
- Stacy Lee Glissmeyer, 66, devoted mother and loving grandmother, was born on the 4th of January, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Henry Richard Glissmeyer and Helen Dene Carlson. She passed away surrounded by her family on the 11th of August, 2025, in Murray, Utah.
In 1977, Stacy graduated from Skyline High School before continuing on to earn a Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah. Throughout her life, she built a successful career as an accountant.
Stacy had a deep love for music and was serving as the choir director for her ward. Her children fondly remember walking downstairs to the sound of her playing the heirloom piano in the living room. Stacy found joy and solace while spending time outdoors. She also excelled at adventurous activities such as skydiving, skiing, and boating for much of her life. From a young age, Stacy was fascinated by anything related to outer space since watching the televised Apollo 11 moon landing. If she wasn't working or watering the flowers in her back yard, she could be found quietly reading, playing Mahjong, or working on a puzzle. Most of all, Stacy loved being with her children and playing with her granddaughter. Sunday family dinners were a happy occasion that she looked forward to each week.
Stacy is survived by her children, Madeline (Alex) Marcum, Rachel Birmingham, Sarah Birmingham, and Aaron Birmingham; her granddaughter, Averly Marcum; her siblings, Stephanie (Doug) Dastrup, Tamara Glissmeyer, and Brian (Angela) Glissmeyer; and many nieces and nephews. Stacy was preceded in death by her parents.
Her family extends their immense gratitude to the DonorConnect community service organization for helping Stacy's legacy live on by providing those in need of organs and tissues with the gift of hope and healing. They would also like to thank the nurses, doctors, and healthcare professionals at the Shock Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Intermountain Healthcare Hospital for caring for their mother with compassion and dignity.
Stacy will be remembered on Saturday, the 16th of August, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse, located at 13122 S. Herriman Rose Blvd in Herriman. A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. After the funeral, Stacy will be interred at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Millcreek. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Herriman meeting house for a luncheon after 1:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be livestreamed by Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Homes & Cremation Center on Stacy's memorial page:
