Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home - Bunkie on Mar. 10, 2025.
Funeral services for Stacy Reed Laborde will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Bunkie with Rev. Phillip Boone officiating. Burial will follow in the Bayou Rouge Baptist Cemetery in Evergreen. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Stacy, age 56 of Bunkie, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at her residence.
Stacy was loved by all as she gave herself selflessly to all she encountered. She was a prayer warrior and gave the best hugs. Stacy had a heart for people and touched so many lives. She made sure her family was taken care of and exuded gentleness and kindness. She was known for her bread-making (with love), green thumb, and compassion for all. She enjoyed spending time with her family, riding horses and watching her chickens. She served her community as the Director of Pharmacy at Bunkie General Hospital for 31 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Bunkie and served in several areas such as teaching Bible study, Vacation Bible school, chaperoning youth camp, and singing on the praise team. Stacy accomplished her life mission in serving her Heavenly Father as we know He welcomed her at Heaven's gate with "Well done, my good and faithful servant".
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Allen and Carrie Chapman; her paternal grandparents, Paul Edward, Sr. and Ione Evelyn Dunbar Reed; her Great Aunt, Leona "Sis" Dunbar; and her brother-in-law, David B. Canal.
Survivors include her husband, Craig A. Laborde of Lone Pine; her daughters, Michaela Lindsly Bergeron (Brady) of Port Allen and Grace Lindsly of Hessmer; step-daughter, Lele L. Mayeaux (Konnor) of Hessmer; her parents, Paul and Elizabeth Reed of Bunkie; her sisters, Kaki R. Carter (Gary) of Pineville, Sherry R. Canal of Monroe, Karen R. Vise (Tommy) of Florence, AL and Amy R. Hale (Jon) of Monroe; Aunt Debbie R. and Uncle Buster Bain of Alexandria and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will include: Brady Bergeron, Gary Carter, Tommy Vise, Jon Hale, Andy Carter and Hunter Canal.
Friends may visit on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bunkie.
