Stacy McAloon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home & Crematory - Kempsville Chapel on Dec. 15, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stacy Lee McAloon, beloved wife, Mom and "GiGi", who departed this life peacefully on December 07, 2025, surrounded by her husband and children at the age of 63.
Her passing followed a heroic 27-year journey with metastatic breast cancer, a challenge she faced every moment with unmatched strength, resilience, and grace. A true legend to all who knew her, Stacy refused to let cancer define her. Instead, she chose to attack and live life fully, love deeply, and inspire endlessly-always cherishing each and every sunrise with undying courage and a warm heart.
Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Stacy carried the warmth of her coastal roots throughout her life making Chesapeake her cherished home. She met the love of her life in 1982 which began their storybook fairy tale romance that flourished for 41-plus beautiful years of marriage. Together, Stacy and Jim built a family grounded in love, laughter, and unwavering support, welcoming and raising their three beloved children and eight treasured grandchildren who became the brightest superstars in her life.
In addition to her full-time role as wife, mom and "GiGi", Stacy excelled in her collateral duty as a proud Navy wife, holding their family together with resilience, independence, and unique loving and fierce combat spirit. She created and flawlessly managed the family home through five combat deployments, two cross-country moves and numerous at-sea workups and detachments while aggressively fighting breast cancer.
Stacy found profound joy in nature and all things connected to the water. She loved being outside, watching birds, kayaking, playing tennis, and enjoying a good glass of wine, especially in her backyard. Her happiest moments were those spent surrounded by family, friends, and the beauty of life and the world around her.
A passionate advocate and dedicated community pillar, Stacy poured her heart into the Bra-ha-ha. She played a major role in raising funds, awareness, and access to mammograms for women in the Hampton Roads area. As a model each year, and guest speaker in 2022, she truly loved inspiring everyone on what it means to live life boldly and beautifully regardless of life's challenges. Her advocacy touched countless lives and reflected her steadfast belief in lifting others up, even while fighting her own battles.
Stacy will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her profound will to live, an infectious smile and her limitless love for those around her. Her story, her love, and her light will forever live on in the many people she inspired. She leaves behind her husband of 41 years, three children Jimmy (Sarah), Amanda (David) and Rhian (Ray) and eight priceless grandchildren.
Stacy's family will honor her life and legacy on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, 1485 Kempsville Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23464
In lieu of flowers, the family requests support of the Bra-ha-ha, so that Stacy's legacy, strength, and passion may continue in her name: https://brahaha.org/.

Stacy was a colorful, sassy, and fun person. You never knew what you were going to run into when you went in to her room at school. Most of the time you left laughing. I remember she went through a period of time where she had a word of the day calendar. Curmudgeon was the particular word of the day. Just saying it made her laugh. Every time I ran into her that day, she used it in some form. I have never forgotten that word, and it's been probably 15 or more years ago. I'll also never forget leaving my glasses at home and going to Stacy for a backup pair. She always had a drawer of 2 or 3 pairs, and she always shared with me. She was full of life and love. My condolences and heartfelt prayers for her family.
