Stan E. Stack, 74, of Downers Grove, passed peacefully early November 13, 2024. He was the beloved son of the late Stanley W. and Dolores L. Stack. Stan was the cherished brother of Blanche Stejskal, Mary Kaplenk, and Michelle (Steven) Orzech. Stan was the devoted husband of Susan (affectionately known as Pat) Stack and the loving father to Tracey Stack. He was also the proud uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Stan attended Lincoln Elementary, Downers Grove South High School, Eastern Illinois University and the College of DuPage. He graduated with an Associate of Arts in Business Administration. He later earned a certificate in Computer Numerical Control (CNC). Stan was a machinist for over 40 years.
Stan was an avid sports fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Blackhawks. Having played baseball in little league and pony league, he took great joy in seeing the Chicago Cubs win the 2016 World Series. Golf was Stan's favorite pastime, and he won many trophies and awards playing in local leagues.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. at Cappetta's West Suburban Funeral Home, 4920 Main St, Downers Grove, IL 60515. Memorial Chapel Services will commence at 1:00p.m. Following Stan's memorial visitation services at the funeral home family and friends are welcome to join Susan and Tracey for refreshments at Tracey's home in Wheaton, IL starting at 4:00p.m. For additional information or questions please call 630-852-8000 or visit us at westsuburbanfh.com
