The Journey began for Stanley on September 12, 1948, in Wetumka, Oklahoma when he was born to the late L.Z. and Ruth Alexander.
Stanley accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized by the late W. E. Watts. He was a faithful and very active member of New Hope Baptist Church of Wetumka Ok. where he served as an assistant superintendent for twelve years. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, piddling around the yard, watching basketball and spending time with his family.
Stanley received his education at Wetumka High School, graduating in 1966 and continued on to the workforce at Tinker Air Force Base where he retired after 39 years of dedicated service. Stanley never worked just one job, while working at Tinker he also obtained training from Charlie James in the custodial field and later started his own business called Southside Janitorial Services. Stanley had a money making mind set and his famous saying was "It's money on the ground, GO GET IT." Stanley's last place of employment was Seminole County where he served as Sanitation Supervisor for 15 years and took great pride in making sure every square foot of the Seminole County Courthouse was cleaned to a standard that exemplified his work ethic!!! The cleanest, sharp dressed janitor that has ever passed through those halls with a heart of gold that will truly be missed.
Stanley was proceeded in death by his parents, L.Z. and Ruth Alexander, and grandparents, Henry Lee and Gertrude Samilton.
He leaves to cherish his lovely memories, his wife of 56 year, Betty Alexander, his two daughters, Tonya Edwards (Charles), and Shai Alexander both of Wewoka, Oklahoma. Grandchildren, Juan Murph, Bralin Hardwick, Cheyenne Buckmaster, Barbie Alexander, and Ava Glasco-Alexander. Great grandchildren JaJuan, Zoey, Ayden, and baby Jayce. One sister, Lynda Alexander of Okc., Ok. Two brothers, Glen Alexander (Vanessa) Wewoka, Ok. and Rodney Alexander of Okc. Ok. One Uncle, Ed Samilton (Willene) of Tulsa Ok. A very loving cousin, Rev. Mackilee Samilton (uncle Mack) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 24, 2024 at New Life Church in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma.

KYLE JOHNSON

May 22, 2024

Stanley became my work Uncle when I started at Tinker in 2000, he was one the 1st men that took me under his wing and taught me how to be a government employee. Always had great words of wisdom for me when I needed it. Anytime OU football would loose he would come in the building yelling "POOOR SOOONERS" just to get a rise from a couple of hardcore Sooner fans, lol. Another one of his favorite sayings around here was, "If they paying, I'm staying" (referring to working Overtime). He will truly be missed, his memories still linger on in Building 1055 The Oxygen Unit TAFB. Rest well Unc.
