He was born May 13, 1951 in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Earl Kenneth Campbell and Edith Virginia Sensabaugh Campbell.
Pete was formerly employed in waste removal for the City of Staunton.
He loved hunting, fishing, outdoor sports, and taking care of his great grandson.
Pete is survived by his wife of 50 years, Darlene Knight Campbell; daughter, JoAnna Shiflett; granddaughter, Shana Hoy and husband Tyler; great grandson, Tate; brothers: Allan Campbell, Junior Campbell; sisters: Betty Campbell, Mary Jackson, Shirley Knight, Linda Root; special nephews and nieces who were like grandchildren to him: JJ & Eric Tudor, Trenton and Kalyn Miller, Lisa Tudor, Melissa Carroll, Carrie Miller, Angie Byram; numerous other nieces and nephews; son-in-law: Eric Shiflett and his special dogs: Goldie and Maddie.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Marvin Campbell, Kenneth Campbell;and 3 sisters: Frances Strickler, Delores Campbell, and Dora Jean Sprouse.
Memorial contributions may be made to Craigsville Funeral Home to assist the family.
