Stanley Dennis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schlossberg Chapel - Canton on Dec. 17, 2025.
Stanley R. Dennis, born September 29, 1933, in Waltham, was a devoted family man, accomplished professional, and passionate traveler who lived a full and meaningful life. He was the middle child of his family, preceded in death by his brother Jason, and survived by his sister Phyllis Schultz of Virginia.

Stanley was the first in his family to attend college, a milestone that reflected his determination and lifelong commitment to learning. He went on to become a Certified Public Accountant and built a respected career in the field. He created a successful accounting practice with his first wife, Sandra, and in addition Stanley dedicated 28 years as a college professor at Suffolk University, where he mentored and inspired generations of students. Some of whom later contact him and said he was their life inspiration.

Stanley and Sandra shared 34 years of marriage, a partnership defined by love, hard work, and shared purpose, while raising their three children-Alan (Carol), David (Danielle), and Michelle (Jeffrey). The memories were filled with sailing around Boston harbor, station wagon trips to Canada every summer and of course his beloved Red Sox games. Stanley was known to always have his baseball glove in his trunk just in case. Sandra's passing in 1992 was a profound loss, but the life they built together remained a constant source of pride and love and memories that have lasted a lifetime.

Later in life, Stanley found love again with Rena (Lavie), and together they embraced a joyful retirement filled with world travel, adventure and family time. Stanley took thousands of photographs along the way, capturing the beauty of the places he visited and the moments he cherished.

He was a proud grandfather to Ryan, Randy (Julie), Shane (Ellen), Joshua (Natalie), Matthew, Sebastian, and Harrison, and a loving great-grandfather to Julien, Bennett, George, and Xander. Family was always at the center of Stanley's life.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19 at noon at Schlossberg Family's Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street in Canton. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon.

Stanley will be remembered for his intellect, perseverance, hard work and deep devotion to his family. He will be missed with all our hearts, but his legacy lives on through the lives he touched-as a father, grandfather, great grandfather, educator, and mentor.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Stanley's to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or www.alz.org (800.272.3900).

My condolences to the family. He was my Professor at Suffolk University in 1972.
He was an excellent educator because it was obvious, he loved to teach.
