Stanley J. Hellis

Muncie – Stanley J. Hellis, 69, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at his home.
He was born on October 12, 1953, in Muncie, the son of John S. and Patricia (Hinkle) Hellis and graduated from Muncie Southside High School. While attending Southside, Stan was an exceptional Hockey and Baseball player. He also attended Ball State University where he played soccer.
Mr. Hellis retired from Muncie Fire Department after twenty years of service. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and fan of auto racing. Stan was always the life of the party and will be missed by those who knew him well.
Survivors include his son, John S. Hellis (Megan) of Muncie; step-daughter, Jill Marie Beck (Michael) of Ocala, Florida; mother, Patricia Hellis; a brother, Vic Hellis (Teresa); grandson, Levi Hellis; brother-in-law, Debbie and Jerry Troxel; niece, Katina Hellis; along with a nephew, Stash Hellis;
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Jo Hellis in 2020; and his father.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the mortuary.
