Stanley Herrold Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barbara Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc - Centre Hall on Dec. 19, 2022.
Stanley Ray Herrold, 68, of Centre Hall, entered his eternal rest on Friday, December 16, 2022. Born on June 7, 1954, in Altoona, he was the son of the late Marlin and Mary Ellen (White) Herrold. On April 12, 1980, at the St Luke Lutheran Church in Centre Hall, he married the love of his life, Audrey D. McClenahan, who survives at home.
Stan graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1972. He was employed with W A DeHart, Inc from 1985 until his retirement in 2019 as a salesman. After his official retirement, he continued to work for them part time until present day.
Stan was a member of St Luke Lutheran Church in Centre Hall. He was also a member of the Bellefonte Lions Club and the Bellefonte Elks Lodge #1094. He loved the great outdoors. enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, taking rides on his motorcycle and ATV. He loved to go boating and sailing with family and friends. He was a social butterfly, knowing someone everywhere he went or striking up a conversation with absolutely anyone (even those that didn't understand English, LOL). It was because of this "gift of gab" he was so successful and loved. He was generous and would help anyone he could, even to a fault sometimes.
Stan had a bigger than life personality. He had an infectious smile and loved to laugh. He was a true character, finding humor in anything. Some may say he was silly, playful, and a tad bit goofy, but to know him was to love him. He was a jokester and brought his own sense of humor to just about any situation. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He cherished his family and friends, always supporting them. When things felt like they were falling apart, you could count on him being the glue that held it all together, usually by making you laugh. His silly sayings, stories, and legacy will live on in all those blessed enough to know him.
Along with his wife, Stan is survived by his sons, Justin A. Herrold of Centre Hall and Adam R. Herrold and his wife, Jessica, of Enterprise, FL; two grandchildren, Wyatt (who adored Papa's Lamb Chops puppets voice and attacks and his swimming pool pal) and Ava Herrold (Papa's precious infant granddaughter he never got to personally meet or hold, but will forever be watching over); his brother, Greg Herrold and his wife, Beth, of State College; two sisters, Elaine Metz and her husband, Barry, of McCallisterville and Pamela Herrold of Milesburg; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends and individuals whose lives he had touched in some way throughout the years.
Along with his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his infant brother, John.
Family and friends will be received from 6pm – 7pm, on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at St. Luke Lutheran Church with a service immediately following at 7pm with Rev Rebecca Horn officiating. Stan will be laid to rest privately at the Reformed & Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall.
