Stanley Walker Jones, a beloved father, brother, and friend, was born on September 2, 1947, in Stantonville, Tennessee, to the late Roy Lafayette and Rubye Veda Walker Jones. On January 25, 2025, at the age of 77 years, 4 months, and 23 days, Stanley peacefully passed away at his home in Stantonville after a period of illness.

Stanley was a man of many talents and experiences, who lived a life full of purpose and connection. He proudly served his country as an Army Veteran, including time stationed in Okinawa, embodying courage and dedication. His career journey was equally diverse, having worked as a truck driver, served in law enforcement during the late 1970s, and contributed to the Public Service Commission.

Stanley’s larger-than-life personality left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Known for his kindness, he never met a stranger and cherished conversations with people from all walks of life. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued.

Stanley found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was passionate about gardening, particularly growing his famous tomatoes and watermelons, and spent hours tending to his plants. He loved the tranquility of boating and found endless delight in watching his many hummingbirds flutter about. A resourceful man, Stanley had an uncanny ability to make the most of what he had, a quality that inspired those around him.

In his leisure time, Stanley could often be found enjoying the company of his loyal dogs or watching his favorite old war movies and Westerns. These moments, steeped in nostalgia and simplicity, brought him immense happiness.

Stanley was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom, and humor. Though he is no longer in pain, his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.

He is survived by his daughter, Farrah Nemeth, and her husband, Mischa, of Murfreesboro, TN; his son, Stanley Clay Jones, of Stantonville, TN; his sister, Gloria Jones Moore; his niece, Summer Barnes; and two nephews, Scott and Derrick Moore.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Rubye Jones.

Stanley’s legacy will live on through the many lives he touched. He will forever be missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
