Stanley Howard Lundgaard

Stanley Howard Lundgaard, aged 83, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2023 in his happy winter
getaway home in Oro Valley, Arizona. He was born on May 10, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Clara
and Alvin Lundgaard. He was the oldest of 4 siblings and grew up on a dairy farm in Ellsworth,
Wisconsin. After graduating from college at the University of Minnesota and earning his MBA from Santa
Clara University, he took pride in his career as a Naval Aviator. He met the love of his life, Beverly Cross,
when he was stationed in California, and soon married and welcomed his two "princesses" Sara
Margaret and Sonja Kathryn to this world. The majority of his career was spent at Lockheed Martin in
Sunnyvale, CA, and Stan served 36 years in the US Navy, retiring as an honorable US Navy Captain.
Stan lived a full and adventurous life. He was a man of many talents and interests, and he pursued them
with passion and enthusiasm. Stan's heart was one of warmth and kindness, to all creatures great and
small. He had a great love for animals-riding his first horse as a boy, raising many pups throughout the
years, and sitting and enjoying the birds whenever he could.
After Stan's daughters brought grandchildren into his heart (Trenton, Troy, Makenna and J.J.), Stan and
Bev moved to Mukilteo, WA to be closer to the family. He was always there for his family and friends,
and his kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. He spent numerous hours volunteering with
the Master Gardener's Community and Mukilteo Police Department, even being honored as the
Mukilteo Citizen of the Year in 2015. Stan and Bev would "escape" the Washington winters by taking
worldwide trips to places such as Europe, South America, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
They truly cherished their annual trips spent with special friends in the Hale Koa in Hawaii and their
Arizona retreat in Oro Valley.
Stan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness,
generosity, and love that will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
