Stanley Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 30, 2026.
Stanley Eugene Moore passed away at the age of 76 on March 8, 2026, from injuries sustained in a car accident. He passed peacefully with his family by his side.

Born and raised in Durango, Colorado, Stan was a fraternal twin to his brother, Alvie D. Moore. The two were the first twins born at Mercy Hospital in 1949. He was the son of Gwendolyn Lee Burnell Moore and Alvie Leroy Moore, and the brother of Laura Ledbetter of Farmington, New Mexico. He graduated from Fort Lewis College in 1973.

Stan worked for many years as a contractor alongside his father and brother, contributing to projects including Tamarron Resort and Cascade Village. He later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he founded his own company, Pacific Process, and went on to work in industrial construction with Schmueser & Associates Inc. for many years. Upon retiring, he returned to the Four Corners area and settled in Farmington, New Mexico.

Stan was a lover of golf, horses, family, and "F-O-N". Known for his generosity and warm spirit, he was an exceptional host who brought people together. During his time in Las Vegas, his favorite spot was PT's, where he formed many lasting friendships and was always a highlight when he walked through the door-much like Cheers, where everyone knew his name. Though he had no children of his own, he shared a close bond with his extended family, who cherished visiting him and always found adventure and laughter in his company. He enjoyed many golf trips over the years, loved watching baseball, and spent countless hours in the mountains in his younger years fishing and hunting with family and friends.

He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Stan was truly one of a kind-a memorable and beloved character.
