Stanley LeRoy Pearson

Stanley L. Pearson, age 86, of Pine City, MN, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away of natural causes at his home and in the company of his family on June 10th, 2025.

Stan was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 19th, 1938 to Clifford and Signe (Swenson) Pearson. He grew up in Crystal, MN and attended Robbinsdale High School where he participated in football, wrestling and tennis. He attended Augsburg College where he met the love of his life Linda Eklof. They were married on June 30th, 1963 and were married over 61 years. After serving in the Army Reserves, he graduated from Augsburg with a degree in business administration.

A natural salesman, Stan started developing his professional skills at Westwood Lamp Co. in St. Louis, MO. It was also in St. Louis where Stan and Linda started their family. After four years as a traveling salesman, Stan and his young family decided to move back to Minnesota. The family continued to grow. A new job at Employers Insurance of Wausau got Stan started in a 47 year career as salesman in the insurance industry eventually retiring from Wells Fargo as V.P. of Insurance Services Property and Casualty Division.

Stan’s most cherished memories were times spent with family on fishing, hunting and camping trips to northern Minnesota and Canada and winter vacations at their villa in Cancun. He especially enjoyed sharing life at the family cabin on Island Lake with family and friends. He was proud of the legacy he was able to pass on at this most special place. Stan and Linda also traveled, and together they visited 30 different countries.

Stan loved sports and was an avid Minnesota Gopher football fan. He especially enjoyed attending his kids and grandkids soccer, hockey, dance, baseball, concerts, theater, and tennis events. Above all else Stan was a family man. His family always came first.

Stan is survived by his wife Linda Pearson; son Mike Pearson (Shelli); son Steve Pearson (Liz Geiss); daughter Melissa Merrick (Matthew); grandchildren Matt Pearson (Nicole), Andrea Holm (Bryce), Nick Pearson, Jacob Merrick, Rhaya Merrick, Anatoley Pearson; great-grandchildren Noah Pearson and baby Holm; step grandchildren Alyssa and Evan; brothers Richard Pearson (Patricia) and Wayne Pearson (Lisa); niece Kristen Berning (Troy); nephew Mark Pearson (Carla).

He was preceded in death by parents Clifford and Signe Pearson; in-laws Ek and Louise Eklof; sister-in-law Lori Conlow (Ralph); nephew Jeff Pearson.

Pastor Skip Reeves will officiate a memorial service for Stan: 11:00 AM; Wednesday, July 23rd at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Rd., Golden Valley, MN.
