Stanley Pugh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arner Funeral Chapel - Chester on Dec. 14, 2025.
Alvin Stanley Pugh Jr., 63 years old of Newell, went peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the Mary Brooks Care Center North in Steubenville on Friday, December 12, 2025. Stanley courageously fought cancer for the past four years. Stanley was the son of the late Alvin B. Pugh and Dorothy Sweat Greathouse. He was born in East Liverpool on February 12, 1962. Stanley was a self-made business owner and entrepreneur, dealing in furniture and appliance sales and repair, excavation, salvage, and many other self-employed ventures. A Christian by faith, he had an impeccable and keen work ethic that served him well throughout his career. Stanley will always be remembered for his incredibly loving nature and extreme generosity. He was always willing to help friends and family in any way they needed. In addition to his parents, his siblings, Nancy (Steve) Williams, Earl Greathouse Jr, and Alvina (Robert) Ross Sr., and an infant son, Charles Glenn Pugh, preceded him in death. Stanley leaves a legacy of love: his children, Alvin S. (Crystal) Pugh III, Jason M. (Brittany) Pugh, and Angela (Tyler) Pugh, all of East Liverpool. In addition to his children, he leaves his siblings, Denise (Robert) Griffin of Georgia and Timothy (April) Pugh of Chester. He also leaves six adored grandchildren, Stanley (Kyleigh) Pugh, Tyler (Kaelyn) Pugh, Katie (Benjamin) Daniels, Stacie Quarterman, and Jase and Adeline Pugh. There are nine great-grandchildren, five girls and four boys. Also, there are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as close friends, Jim, Carl, and Paul. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Stanley's life at the Arner Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, December 16, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Pastor Dirk Hall will conduct services on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. Private interment will be on Wednesday at the Locust Hill Cemetery.
