Stanley Kent Scott, 87, of Monteview, Idaho, passed away on November 20, 2025, at Homestead Senior Living. He was born in Labelle on November 22, 1937 to Clyde Raymond Scott and Afton Lucille Park.
Stanley graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1956 and continued his education at ISU Trade School in diesel mechanics. He served in the U.S. Military in Germany as a diesel mechanic.
He married his high school sweetheart, Karen Jean Hawkes, and together they raised a large family. Stanley farmed for several years in Jamestown before working at the INL for 17 years. He took pride in running a successful dairy operation in Monteview for many years. In his later years, he delivered flooring for Birchcreek Millworks in Terreton, Idaho.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stanley served faithfully in many callings, including scouting, high council, sunday school and primary teacher. He especially loved serving in the temple.
Stanley enjoyed fast cars, driving, fishing, agriculture, and the dairy life and attending family celebrations of any kind. He loved the land and the people of Monteview.
He is survived by his children: Ann ( Kortny) Albertson of Roberts, Idaho, Melissa (Brent) Taylor of Rigby, Idaho, Kent (Leah) Scott of Gooding, Idaho, Steven (Melinda) Scott of Logan, Utah, Bill (Stacie) Scott of Kauai, Hawaii, Dwight ( Cindy) Scott of Monteview, Idaho, John Scott of Menan, Idaho, and Andy (Kristie) Scott of Hamer Idaho, sisters Ruth Maughn of Lehi, Utah, Deniece (Jon) Kinghorn of New Jersey, brothers Deral Scott of Wyoming, Kenneth (Kayleen) Scott of Mapleton, Utah, Blaine (Debbie) Scott of Logan, Utah, 26 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Monteview L.D.S. Chapel with Bishop Lewis Newman officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and prior to the funeral on Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. both at the church. Burial will follow at the West Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com.
