Morris LeRoy Quick, 90, died peacefully in his home in Lincoln, California on January 29, 2026.

He was born on June 5, 1935, in Jerome, Idaho, to Morris Homer Quick and Ethel Lena (Fox) Quick. LeRoy, as he was known in his youth, graduated from Jerome High School in 1954, where he was active in football, basketball and track and attended Boys State. He attended Idaho State College, receiving a bachelor’s degree in education in 1959. Morris gained a commission in the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant in 1962 and returned to Pocatello with his family. Morris began his 32-year teaching career at Irving Jr. High. Morris was a member of the original faculty when Highland High School opened in 1963. He obtained a master’s degree in counseling from Idaho State University in 1968 and continued teaching until he retired in 1994.

Morris married his college sweetheart, Jane Anne Jones, the day after they both graduated from Idaho State College on June 1, 1959. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. They had 2 children, Elizabeth and Bill.

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he held many callings. He and his wife served a mission in Morristown, New Jersey from 1996-98, and another Service mission in Blackfoot, Idaho.

He loved the outdoors and was an accomplished hunter and fisherman. In his later years, he and his wife would spend the winter in Arizona, until her death in 2017.

Morris married LuRene Pratt on April 23, 2019, in Auburn, California and they were sealed in the Sacramento Temple on June 29, 2019.

Morris is proceeded in death by his father and mother, sisters, Shirley Quick and Eleanor Quick, his beloved wife Jane, and his son William (Bill).

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Vince) Bowen; grandchildren, Ryan (Cherisse) Bowen, Sean (Tara) Bowen, Casey (Amy) Bowen, Christopher Quick, Bradley (Michelle) Quick, and Hope Quick; Great-grandchildren, Landon Bowen, Ashley Bowen, Levi Bowen, Colin Bowen, Samuel Bowen, Myka Bowen, Carly Bowen, and William Quick; and his second wife, LuRene Pratt.

Grave-side services will be at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.. Military rites will be included. The family will receive friends at Eckersell’s Funeral Home in Rigby one hour prior to internment.
