Stanley Slemp, 75, of Camargo, widower of Anna Faye Slemp, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025 at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Center, Lexington. He was born March 26, 1950 in
Stanton, Kentucky to the late Luther and Mamie Pridemore Slemp. Stanley worked at Hobarts, Sipple Brick, and had his own construction, masonry business for over three decades. His craft took him all over the country and much of the work he built still stands proudly today, as a testament to his legacy. He had a real love for the outdoors, hunting and fishing, especially catching bass with his buddies down the road. Stanley made pop-eyes, fishing plugs, bee hives, and many other items to keep himself busy. His biggest passion was trading knives and guns. He would go to local pawn shops and flea markets every week, where he had many friends he considered family. Stanley never met a stranger, he had friends far and wide. His famous saying he loved to tell everyone is "Stanley takes care of Stanley", he was independent and did things "his" way, no matter what anyone thought, or what they thought was best for him. He was well known for his gardens and he always enjoyed sharing his harvest with others. Stanley always wanted to be prepared for the future canning fruits and vegetables to put up. He took great pride in his gardens and watching them grow. He cherished his time with family and friends, always enjoying every moment he could spend with them. Stanley had a fondess of his rose colored glasses and loved listening to music. He also enjoyed attending the Gateway Church of God , where he formed many friendships there as well.
