Stanley Stephen “Steve” Stewart, III, 68, of Lizella, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025. A graveside funeral service to honor his life will be held on Wednesday, November 12, at 11:00 AM at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Pastor, Ronnie Hollis officiating.
Mr. Stewart was born on April 21, 1957, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Mr. Stanley Stephen Stewart, Jr., and Mrs. Meldeen Lightsy Stewart. He enjoyed a long and dedicated career, holding several positions throughout his working life that included serving as a warehouseman and delivery driver for both Lowe Electric and Parts Central, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. Later, he joined Macon-Bibb County Parks and Recreation, where he faithfully served as a gatekeeper at Lake Tobesofkee. His friendly demeanor and commitment to his job made him a familiar and well-respected face to the many visitors who came through the park. After years of devoted service, Mr. Stewart retired from Macon-Bibb County Parks and Recreation, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication to his community. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on his land while riding his John Deere tractor.
Left to cherish Mr. Stanley’s memory are his wife of 35 years, Karen D. Stewart; brother, Kenneth “Ken” L. Stewart; and sisters-in-law, Anne Thompson (Ben) and Donna Krug.
