Stanton K. Reed

Stanton Reed, age 97, of Norfolk, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. He was born in Contoocook, NH. The son of the late Robert G. Reed and Sarah (Kimball) Reed. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 31 years, Irene Reed.

Stan was a Navy WWII and Korean War veteran. After retirement he worked for NAS Norfolk Base Police for 20 years. Upon retiring, he then worked in security at AT&T for 10 years.

He was a member of the Police Association for 54 years and the American Legion for 76 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Palmateer (Doug), Sandra Reed – Setzer (Mike), Virginia Lamphier (Jimmie), Vickie Powell (Jeff), and Vonnie Weesner (Mike), a son, Edwin C. Lamphier Jr., 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a brother, Robert G. Reed Jr.

Though we grieve his passing, we celebrate a long life lived with love, generosity, and humor.

A private graveside service will be held.
