Starr Bryce Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 21, 2025.
Starr Bryce passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at the age of 75, at her home in Brookfield, Vermont. Starr was a truly remarkable and joyful individual, known for her loving spirit as a professional caregiver and devoted mother. Her passions included motorcycles, animals, and her unwavering Christian faith. Starr Bryce, born Pamela Starr Bryce, entered the world on November 26, 1949, in Springfield, Massachusetts. Starr was the only child of Jean Whitworth, originally from England, and John Bryce, a Navy veteran. Raised in Easthampton, MA, she initially pursued a career as a Pastry Chef before dedicating her life to caregiving, a calling that defined her compassionate spirit. In 1968, Starr married Peter Corbett, and together they welcomed four children, Abram (born 1970), Seth (born 1973), Aaron (born 1975), and Faith (born 1977). The family made their home in Western Massachusetts. After their divorce in 1983, Starr relocated with her children to northern Vermont, where Starr pursued further education in caregiving and began working with Upper Valley Services, providing compassionate support to individuals with developmental disabilities and adult family care. Starr was admired as a professional caregiver and devoted mother for her cheerful demeanor and loving spirit. Starr was a free spirit who connected effortlessly with everyone she met. Her life was deeply guided by her unwavering Christian faith in Jesus. She cherished her close relationships with her large family, as well as many others she considered family. Stars held a special place in Starr's heart, adorning everything from her baked goods to her tattoos and the illuminated stars in her home. Cooking remained her lifelong passion, and she found joy in serving others through her delicious food, with her homemade apple pie and carrot cake especially beloved. She also taught her children the value of healthy cooking. Starr embraced independence, frequently exploring Vermont's scenic back roads on her motorcycle, often well into her seventies. In addition to her love for motorcycles, her "iron horses", she adored real horses, riding, raising, and breeding them. Her affection extended to dogs as well, particularly AKC German Shepherds, which she bred with care. Starr always met personal adversities with positivity and strength; her motto was "Joy is not based on circumstance". Starr is now reunited with her beloved parents, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her four children, twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Her ashes will be divided among her children, and her vibrant, loving spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
