Stefani Esta

Stefani Esta (1/25/46-11/20/25) was a deeply admired, creative, and powerful woman whose artistic passion and unmistakable talent touched everyone who encountered her work. She was a student of the Laguna College of Art and Design, she cultivated a vision and craft that were uniquely her own. Esta was indeed an art enthusiast. Her magnificent artwork-formed in steel, stone, copper, brass, and mixed media-stands as her enduring legacy. Her creations are utterly exquisite, deeply moving, and reflect a spirit of strength, imagination, and divine beauty that she carried throughout her life.
Stefani exhibited her work in numerous respected galleries, including The Vorpal in Laguna Beach, CA; The Branner Spangenberg Gallery in Palo Alto, Ca, her gallery in Sand City, CA; the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts in Carmel, CA; The Edge Gallery in Carmel Valley, CA; and at the Monterey Museum of Art in Monterey, CA. Through these shows, countless viewers had the opportunity to experience the emotional power and innovation of her art. Her fabulous outdoor exhibit at the Monterey Museum of Arts is on permanent display.
Her dear son, Ben Spangenberg passed away Sep 29th 2023. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Heather McCoy Thomas and her husband, Ramsay Thomas and Grandson, Jasper Thomas and her loving daughter, Polly Ann Atkinson, her husband, Kelly Atkinson and her Grandson, Kyle Atkinson and her Grandson, Jay Atkinson.
Stefani will be remembered not only for the extraordinary works she created, but for the passion, brilliance, and individuality she brought into the world. Her absence is deeply felt, but her art ensures that her spirit continues to inspire.
