Stella Jean Allen, 91, passed away February 10, 2025 after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Walter (W.D.) Mattox and Ora Lee Williford Mattox. Besides her parents she was preceded in death her two brothers J. Walter Mattox and Joey Mattox; three sisters Hazel Lee, Ruth Gaskins, and Faye Peacock.
She was a member of Southside Church of God.
Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Quitman Allen; three sons, Johnny (Wanda) Allen, Leon (Judy) Allen, Gary (Kay) Allen; one daughter, Connie Lane (Dale Overstreet); one sister Judy Williams (Richie), of Baxley, Ga; eleven grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 14, 2025 at 2 PM at Southside Church of God with Pastor David Deen and Pastor R.M. Warren. Interment will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will be receiving friends Friday at the church from 1 PM until service time.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Southside Church of God, 102 Taylor Rd, Alma, Ga. 31510.
Active pallbearers will be Allen Dyal, Jason Dyal, Jason Lane, Jasper Allen, Dusty Allen, and Parker Peagler. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Twin Oaks Nursing Home.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
