Stella Louise Baskin, 72, born on December 26, 1952, in Calhoun City, Calhoun County, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a cherished private duty nurse known for her compassion and dedication to those in her care.
Stella's career spanned many years, during which she touched countless lives through her selfless service to others. Her commitment to nursing was not just a profession, but a calling that reflected her nurturing spirit and profound empathy.
She is survived by her loving family, which includes her sons, Kevin Denton, Bennie Denton, and David Earl Baskin; her daughters, Catina Denton and Marie Santiago; and her siblings, Thomas Powell, Lysander Powell, Sedrick Powell, Letrina Powell, and Anglan Hunter. Stella was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Daniels, and her mother, Louise Suggs.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, Mississippi. The event will begin at 1:00 PM.
Stella Louise Baskin will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her kindness, and the love she shared with all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will continue through the lives she impacted and the family she so dearly loved.
