Stella Butkiewicz

Stella Konstancia Butkiewicz, age 101, joined her beloved husband, Alexander, in eternal rest on May 30, 2025. She was born on September 19, 1923, in Jackson, Michigan, to the late Walter and Maryanna Chmielewski.
Stella lived a full and vibrant life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. She grew up on a farm, where she learned the values of dedication and perseverance,traits that stayed with her throughout her life. She went on to work at Aeroquip Corporation, where she was employed for over 40 years.
In 1947, Stella married the love of her life, Alexander Butkiewicz. Together they shared 54 wonderful years, filled with love, laughter, and adventures. The two especially enjoyed traveling to warmer destinations like Hawaii, Florida, and the Dominican Republic.
A devoted member of St. Stanislaus Church, Stella's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She found joy in simple pleasures gardening and tending her flowers, cutting the grass well into her 90s, and hosting cherished family picnics at the lake. Her famous strawberry pie was a beloved treat among her family.
When indoors, Stella enjoyed crocheting, working on word search puzzles, and watching her favorite cooking shows, especially Rachel Ray.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Teresa (Scott) Miller and Judy (Daryl) Fahlstrom; her grandchildren, Eric (Kathryn) Fahlstrom, Lisa (Jacob) Tucker, Shanna (Mauricio) Nunez Kaminski, and Christopher (Kimberly) Kaminski; and her great-grandchildren, Easton, Owen, and Anderson Fahlstrom, Blake and Tessa Tucker, and Caroline and Cassidy Kaminski. She is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Stella was preceded in death by her siblings: Leo, Chester, Walter, Agnes, and Eleanor.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 12:30 PM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 PM at St. Stanislaus Kostka Chapel, with Fr. Tim Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
