Stella Elizabeth Lyle

Stella Elizabeth Lyle, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Mosaic Life Care in Maryville with family at her side. Born on, October 29, 1941, in New Salisbury, Indiana, Stella lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to her family and community.

Stella's journey through life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and her diverse career. She attended Morgan Township High School in Palmyra, Indiana, and pursued further education at Iowa Western Community College in Clarinda, Iowa. Her professional life was as varied as it was fulfilling, with roles at Young Restaurant, Formed Fashion 220 (Cosmetics), and ownership of her own studio. She later worked at Walmart, as a department manager and Pamida, as the store manager in both Minnesota and Iowa. For the last 25 years, she devoted herself to helping her late husband, Jack L. Lyle, on their farm.

Stella was a cherished member of her family, survived by her sons, Charles (Vickie) Basham of St. Joseph, MO, and Justin (Teri Eckert) Schoening of Kansas City, MO; her daughters, Cheryl Barton of Riverton, IA, and Helena (Larry Head) Michel of Erlham, IA. She also leaves behind her stepchildren, Harold (Teresa) Lyle of Maryville, MO, Vickie Lyle of Kansas City, MO, and Karen (Mark) Rothermich of Parkville, MO. Her legacy continues through her brothers, Clarence (Brenda) King Jr., Jesse King, Henry King, and Jimmy King, and her sisters, Wilma Wate, Mona Carol Holsapple, and Martha Jo Still. Stella was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary King, her husband Jack Lyle in 2022, her daughter Vickie Sue Basham in 2023, her brothers Dallas and Wesley King, her sister Mary Katherine King, her great-grandson Greyson Harskamp, her stepdaughter Sharon Middleton and her husband Mike Middleton, her step-grandson Ryan Burris, and her sons-in-law Rick Barton, Brent Michel.

A visitation will be held at Bram Funeral Home in Maryville, MO, on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 am. Stella will be lovingly carried to her final resting place, Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham, MO, by pallbearers Charlie Basham, Ricky Barton, Nick Michel, Matt O'Riley, Justin Schoening, Tim Harskamp, and Brian Renshaw.

Stella's life was a testament to her strength, resilience, and the love she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Arrangements are provided by Bram Funeral Home.
