Stella Rott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services LTD. on Dec. 19, 2025.
Stella Rott (née Engelbrecht), resident of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Schaumburg, Illinois, passed away on December 17th at home at the age of 92 years, forever joining her beloved husband Stanley Rott, who passed away on November 1st at home at the age of 94 years.
Stella and Stanley spent their entire lives with each other, meeting as young children and remaining together until their last days. As a teenager Stanley enlisted in the United States Army, eventually earning the rank of Sergeant. He fought in the Korean War, and upon his return he wed Stella in a marriage that would last for over 73 years. Stanley made a name for himself working his whole life in the fastener industry, eventually owning his own company. Stella and Stanley loved spending time with family: their Christmas gatherings, pool parties, vacations, and card games were legendary over the years. Stanley and Stella enjoyed a well-deserved early retirement in Florida and were able to indulge their love of cruises and trips to the casino. They will be remembered for loving their dogs, playing and calling bingo at the VFW, watching game shows and Westerns, and even playing the occasional game of charades. Stella demonstrated her love through cooking and gifting her own homemade crafts, while Stanley liked tinkering on his computer. They later relocated to Texas near their son Dale to enjoy the rest of their days together.
Stella and Stanley are survived by their children Catherine (James), Stanley D. (Katja), Patricia (Thomas), Wayne (Lynne), Keith (Koren), and Phillip; their grandchildren Jeffrey (Leigh), Sheryl (Sterling), Christine (David), Melanie, Justin, Jeremy (Nikkole), Stina, Lars (Amber), Kollin, Kelsey, Kade, Ashley (William), Austin (Valentina), and Alec; and their great-grandchildren Henry, Samuel, Andrew, Helen, Thomas, Monica, Emma, Alaina, Naomi, Claire, Hailey, Paige, Lawson, Linnaea, Bengton, Axel, Sage, Anton, Skye, Liam, and Mateo. They are also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Beulah, her sisters Velma, Katie, Helen, and Jenny, and her brothers Lester, John, Bill, and Richie. Stanley was preceded by his parents Stanley and Margaret, and his sisters Anna (Fabian) and Pat (Leon). They are both preceded by dear nieces and nephews and will join many other loved ones.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 10:00am - 1:00pm at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services LTD., 330 West Golf Road, Schaumburg, IL 60195. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00pm.
The Final Resting Place will take place immediately after the funeral service at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, 1185 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine, IL 60067.
