John Rott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bauman Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Dec. 31, 2025.
John Rott, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, in Yorkville, Illinois. Born on June 14, 1971, in Naperville, Illinois, to the late George W. and Elizabeth (Fairlie) Rott.
Growing up in Kendall County, John attended Yorkville High School and graduated in 1990. His high school years were marked by his involvement on the football team, showcasing his team spirit and determination. Following his graduation, John pursued his interest in mechanics at a trade school, where he honed the skills that would define his professional life.
John's career as a diesel mechanic was not just a job but a calling. He specialized in working on heavy machinery and took great pride in his work. John was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Joliet Local 150, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to the industry with his extensive knowledge and experience.
Beyond his professional life, John had a profound interest in military history. He collected die-cast models of warplanes from different eras, a hobby that allowed him to connect with history and share stories with fellow enthusiasts. John's home was a mini-museum, a testament to the bravery of soldiers and the evolution of aviation technology.
John's love for his family was evident in everything he did. He is survived by his beloved sister Larraine Rott; brother Brian (Karen) Rott; sister Judy (Pat) Hartbarger; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother George A. Rott, with whom he now rests in peace.
In his personal life, John's kindness extended to his four-legged friend, his dog Nicky, who was a constant companion and source of joy. Their bond was a beautiful sight, and Nicky was a true member of the family
