It has been more than a year. "Every day, and often in the quiet hours of the night, I find myself thinking of you."
The sorrow of losing my husband, my lover, my closest friend, my mentor, my child... Stephan was everything to me during the 22 years we spent together...
Stephan had the kindest heart I´ve ever known (second only to my dear mother), which is why I chose to marry him. Together, we passionately built and managed a highly successful drug and alcohol treatment center, working tirelessly and on call 24/7 for the first exciting six years of our union. Eventually, I insisted he step away from the stress to focus on his deteriorating health, and we moved to Colorado to be near a specialist who might save his life. The long-awaited transplant finally took place in 2017.
Aside from those nightly violent nightmares, for eighteen years, he endured on-and-off treatments of daily injections that caused high fevers and aches. Stephan exhibited remarkable resilience, enduring both physical and emotional pain, making me wonder if he came from another planet. He showed up for most of his parents' birthdays and anniversaries, except when hospitalized due to severe complications from the treatment side effects. He kept friends at arm's length, never wanting anyone to know what he was enduring. Yet, whenever feasible, he would appear at class reunions or other events, looking good as if nothing was wrong.
Stephan certainly had his quirks, and he could be incredibly funny. I believe that humor was his way of enduring the relentless pains he learned to live with.
In between treatments, Stephan embraced life to the fullest. He had a passion for driving his fast cars and went to as many professional baseball, football, and hockey games at Denver parks and stadiums. He also had a great love for kickboxing and boxing events in Las Vegas.
Stephan had a magnetic personality that attracted boxing athletes, politicians, popular activists, and many others from exclusive circles. Yet, he would not be afraid to engage with a homeless individual, speaking to them as if they were CEOs. This ability to connect with everyone regardless of their status in this world was a quality I deeply, deeply admired.
Through all the ups and downs, I couldn't imagine being married to anyone else and loving someone so profoundly (still do). When we first met, and I fell in love with this ex-Formula race car driver, I knew my life would change drastically. I was in love with his heart and spirit.
And finally, it's time to embrace acceptance and cherish the precious moments we had together.

I can´t believe you´re gone Stephan . You were the sweetest Man I´ve ever known . Always so caring and kind . You loved talking about Scarlett and your Ranch and Trump . we always had great conversations and you were always so positive and encouraging to me . I thank god you blessed me with your presence and your energy. I will miss you so much .

Papa B and I had our best times by just simply having conversation whether it´s good or bad, personal experiences, or simply grabbing a six pack of Fat Tire and talking about the day there was always something to be learned in every moment with him and I enjoyed all of it. He was humble and an angel to everyone that he´d cross paths with, I´ve truly never met anyone like him before. One thing for sure is the the love he had for his Ferrari Scarlett is unmatched. On the other hand Papa B enjoyed the company of my 7 kids and I genuinely enjoyed just seeing what else we can learn from the stories he´d tell in such vivid details. He´d always make sure wherever we´d be at whether it´s out to eat, at the store, or even on the side walk when first seeing each other with great happiness in his voice he´d always let my presence be known `Ohhhh my son´ even with my kids he´d do this. I´ll always carry all the conversations and memories we shared. As a respected and honorable man Rest In Peace Papa B we will miss you and love you very much.
