Stephanie Lynn Carlson

Born on July 17, 1948 in San Francisco, California.
Passed May 3, 2025, in Palm Bay, Florida

On May 3, 2025, God gave Stephanie Carlson her wings where she will join her husband, son, sister, many friends, and other family. Her long journey with dementia has come to an end and she is free again. Stephanie was confined to her bed during the last 6 months of her life. Her family will miss her greatly, but we are relieved that she is free from her failing body and able to continue to love and take care of all of us from heaven.
Born in California, Stephanie lived in many places before finally calling Melbourne her home 50+ years ago. Stephanie was a realtor for over 40 of those years, achieving million-dollar club in sales many times, leadership roles with the Board of Realtors, and a mentor/teacher to many realtors who help people today.
Her love of travel was deep. Stephanie was always ready to grab her suitcase or keys if it meant a new destination. She took many cruises with her husband Ken. Some of the cruises included travel with Ken's sisters and their husbands. Some of the cruises included her daughter Karin and their granddaughters Shelby and Kenna. Some of the cruises were with dear friends. She was always up for memory making.
In addition to cruises, there were countless trips to Sky Valley, GA, and Lake Tahoe, CA with her family. One of her favorite things to do on those trips was to cook for her family every night. Stephanie showed love through cooking and that expression occurred many times with family and friends. Her delivery of chicken salad or white bean chili was a consistent effort to support friends and family that were grieving or ill. She had a generous heart and wanted to take care of people.
Stephanie, as a notary public, also married many friends and family in the Melbourne community. This gave her tremendous joy. She always wanted to be part of happy moments and help others have their best day.
Stephanie was an avid card player and was a legend for her competitive spirit. Love and friendship were left at the door when the cards were shuffled. Her card shark nature was truly admired by everyone she played with. Games of Thirteen were played hundreds of times among family and friends.
Stephanie was predeceased by both her son, Steven, and her husband, Ken. She is survived by her daughters Karin Carlson and Shari Mitchell (married to Scott Mitchell). She was also blessed with 3 incredible grandchildren, Christopher, Shelby, and Kenna (Rylie) and 2 great grandchildren, Cameron and Bennett.
We hope those that knew Stephanie will join us in a memorial/celebration of her life at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral home on May 16, 2025 from 2:00 – 5:00. The family will receive friends and family during this entire time. Memories and stories will be shared from 4:00 – 5:00. Memories and stories can also be streamed at Stephanie Lynn Carlson's facebook Live Stream for those unable to attend in person. The family invites guests to come to Shari's house after the memorial. Further directions will be provided at the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Healthfirst Hospice. Please indicate "Hospice" on the form or include it in the memo of the check with Stephanie Carlson's name in the memo
