Stephanie Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Quinn Funeral Home - Warwick on Dec. 16, 2025.
Stephanie A. (Doster) Johnson, 56, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025 following a heroic battle with cancer. Her loving family was by her side. Stephanie was the devoted wife of Eric M. Johnson for close to 20 years. Born in Cranston, she was the cherished daughter of Lucille (Lopes) Doster and the late William Doster Sr.
In addition to her husband and mother, Stephanie is survived by her beloved children James Buonfiglio, Ava Johnson and Axel Johnson; and her loving siblings Kristen Tavares, Raymond Doster and Rene Johnson; her sisters-in-law Maryann Doster and Anne Johnson; as well as by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother William Doster Jr.
A woman of immense generosity and selflessness, Stephanie devoted many years of her life to caring for others as a CAT Scan Technician at Kent County Hospital. Everyone's favorite aunt, she always kept her family at the forefront of her heart and never missed a birthday, no matter what was happening in her own life. Those closest to her will fondly remember her infectious laugh and wonderful sense of humor, which never faded even during life's most challenging moments.
Stephanie loved to travel, often delighting in planning her famously "strange vacations" for the family and coordinating girls' trips on the weekends, but she especially cherished trips north to the White Mountains, particularly when camping. A true New Englander at heart, she loved both the beach and the mountains, enjoyed going for a drive on her husband's motorcycle-especially when there was no destination in mind-and never turned down a lobster dinner, even if it occasionally made her sick. At the end of the day, Stephanie could often be found reflecting and enjoying quiet moments with her beloved rescue dog, Johnny Cash, in her "she-shed," a sacred and peaceful place that brought her comfort.
She will be deeply and dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her visitation will take place from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, December 19, 2025, in The Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Her Funeral Service will begin at 12:00pm, immediately following the conclusion of calling hours. Her burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephanie's memory may be made to Meeting Street School, a special needs facility, located at 1000 Eddy St #4739, Providence, RI 02905.

Steph was one of my longest and closest friends. Even though we lost touch for a few years at the lowest point in my life I turned around and she was there! That was Steph! Though she is no longer living with us all the love we all have for her will never die! Rest in peace my Honey Bunn! Love your friend forever Mel

Eric and Steph's family,
Thank you for allowing us nurses to take care of Steph. I adored Steph and her light-hearted spirit and tough attitude. I genuinely enjoyed seeing her for appointments and felt honored to take care of her. She spoke so highly of you Eric and the She-shed you made for her. She always talked about how much she loved a place to escape to. You were a huge advocate for her and in the short time I spent with you I could see how much you loved and cared for her. Thinking of you and the rest of your family during this tough time.
Love,
Ashley McAuley

Eric, I'm so glad we finally got to meet you. Steph was a force to be reckoned with, and a snarky delight to be around. She will be sorely missed. I can't imagine not seeing her anymore, and not laughing about some nonsensical thing together. I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. Please know we're here if you need anything. We would have done anything for Steph, and that goes for you too <3
